Gina Neely: America's Sweetheart
Affectionately known as America’s Sweetheart, Gina Neely is a true example of hope and determination. As an American Celebrity Chef, she feeds our taste buds with great food, coupled with laughter and enlightening stories that cause you to reflect on your own life’s lessons. With tenacity and style, Gina is a Show Host, New York Times Best-Selling Author, Reality Television Star, Brand Ambassador, and Restaurateur. These incredible opportunities have allowed her to sprinkle a bit of love and humor into the lives of many.
Gina’s breakout moment as a Celebrity Chef happened in 2008 when her cooking show Down Home with the Neelys became The Food Network’s highest-rated series debut. She also appeared as a primetime host of The Food Network’s “Road Tasted”. Gina is currently the producer and host of her own show Chopped with Gina Neely on Magic Johnson’s Aspire TV Network.
Mastering the nuances of Reality Television is no easy feat. And yet Gina has captured us with that warm Southern charm and witty disposition as the current star of the new Bravo Television Network show “To Rome for Love,” which documents her journey through divorce and finding love after 50. Gina, and her former husband and Food Network co-star, also appeared on a highly-rated episode of Celebrity Wife Swap on the ABC Network.

In print, Gina has been featured in People Magazine, O Magazine, Ebony, Essence, The Wall Street Journal, Black Enterprise, USA Today, Sam’s Club, Food Network Magazine and Dr. Oz. which makes her no stranger to Daytime Television but quite the novice as she engages and motivates audiences everywhere.
Gina’s love for family, food and the enjoyment of life transcended to the publishing world when her first cookbook Down Home with the Neelys (Knopf, 2009), quickly earned a place on The New York Times bestseller list. Gina also authored, The Neely’s Celebration Cookbook (Knopf 2011), and Back Home with the Neely’s (Knopf 2014). She is currently authoring a book, entitled “These Are My Rules, This Is My Life and I Want It Back” to help women maneuver through life, love, and the issues facing their personal and professional lives.
You may have happened upon Gina at The White House where she was honored to be invited by President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama to take part in the televised 2012 White House Easter Egg Roll. Or, experienced her commitment and compassion as she actively participates on several charitable boards, including: The Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association’s Hunger Initiative, The Greater Memphis Media, and The Grizzlies House utilizing her platform for the greater good. Regardless of where you first encountered Gina, the feeling is always the same; she has a knack for business, a heart for people and brightens each moment with contagious laughter. Understanding the state of our communities and the needs of people, Gina is also a member of “The Dreamers Club” for The National Civil Rights Smithsonian Museum.
As an Entrepreneur, Gina successfully launched and promoted a branded-line of cookware on QVC. She has also enjoyed prolific Brand Ambassador relationships with Green Giant, Kraft Foods, Sam’s Club and Spectrum Brands, and served as the national spokeswoman for the George Foreman Grills “Weight Loss Challenge”, the Seafood Nutrition Partnership “Heart Awareness Campaign” and the Pennsylvania Preferred Program Expo “Local Fork to Plate Program.” She has also originated several popular webinar series and blogs.
Gina currently resides in Memphis, Tennessee, and has two daughters.
